This image was taken in Freetown Fall-River State Forest, a claimed ‘cursed forest’ in Massachusetts, taken as part of the Mythophelia project found in Stories.

Bizarre phenomena have been reported since colonial times, including strange creatures, Bigfoot, UFOs, ghosts, specters, ominous black helicopters, mysterious orbs of light, strange disappearances, giant snakes, poltergeist activity, and cattle mutilations. The forest is said to be home to a race of diminutive humanoid creatures known as Pukwedgies, which have long been known by the native Wampanoag tribe. These mischievous creatures are said to be competent magic users and shapeshifters.

The image was shot on 35mm roll film, which was then scanned digitally.
